Project no.2
[ Isolation Structure ]
-Structure and Body: Materials ,Anthropometry and Ergonomic Exploration
What is the structure? What is tension, compression, bending, torsion, and shear? What are anthropometry and ergonomics? And what is material and how is it important ?
Project 2 ,students will go on a journey to answer all the questions mentioned above. We will be working with several materials to understand the nature and characteristics of these materials and how it is to be used in our design. You are to design a structure for self -isolation and to show your personal behavior during this pandemic period. .You will explore constructions details, joinery, and structural quality and how the selected materials work together. We are to have an imaginary north point to located your tectonic structure, indicating the direction of sunlight. The next step is to amalgamate your design intention(from P1)with anthropometrics and ergonomics to form your structure
Brief
Design Intention
Inspiration:

Form formed by the tube like material in creating a boat like structure to convey a sense of floating effect like on the ocean / waves symbolise the freedom and escape .
Materials Selected :
-CPVC Pipe (main structure ) waterproof and floatable
-cardboard & paper
Anthropometry &Ergonomics -banal action
banal action is chosen: Lounging Position
-The most relax + comfortable position that makes me feel release
-Shoulders and arms is relaxed
-Body lean against the structure
-Legs posit in a comfortable manner
Narrative:
I start the Project by questioning myself what is my personal responses to the pandemic and the lockdown. And I ends up feeling self -isolation is really disruptive and annoying as it have heavily affect my levels of anxiety and Mental health issues with feeling of depressed ,lost ,unnerving.
The ways to overcomes this negative consequences is acceptance with having a relaxation techniques / a relaxation spaces as a valuable tool to help me remain calm and continue protect my mental health
